The Long Term Recovery Committee

Calming the Waters Together

Funding :

  • United Way of Hancock County is the fiscal agent for LTRC
  • Two part-time Case Managers and a Coordinator are funded through Lutheran Disaster Relief, United Methodist Committee on Relief and The Community Foundation, respectively
  • Long-term recovery donations come from a variety of sources, including:
    • Inside and outside the community
    • Faith based relief organizations
    • Special Events
    • Grants
  • Case Managers bring properly qualified recovery plans to the LTRC for approval

LTRC needs VOLUNTEERS!

  • VOAD (Voluntary Agencies Active in Disaster) member groups are poised to bring skilled workers to the community to rebuild homes and lives
  • We need volunteer housing from local churches, schoos or hotels to shelter out-of-town volunteers
  • We need volunteer groups to feed the out-of-town volunteers.
  • Local congregations and other organized groups can serve through this minishtry
    • Donation of time, talent and treasure
    • Administrative volunteer
    • Project volunteer
  • The LTRC has a Volunteer Coordination committee to connect volunteers with the cases as spproved by the LTRC
